Government
Paragon has been working with various US Government agencies for
many, many years. From the Federal level to smaller Parks & Recreation
departments, we make every effort to completely understand your project and get
it completed in a timely manner. Our payment terms are usually net 15 days
from delivery. All we need is a signed purchase order to get your project
started.
County Bridges
We are often contacted by various County Bridge Departments inquiring about the
use of our bridges. Paragon understands that this might be a totally new
concept in many areas and there might be some reluctance. For that reason,
we offer two studies; one conducted by the University of Arkansas for the
Arkansas DOT. The second was conducted by the University of Iowa for the
Iowa DOT. Both states have used railroad flat cars as secondary road
bridges and both states have spend a considerable amount of time researching,
testing, and monitoring these bridges. While there were some concerns,
primarily with the condition of the railcars
prior to placing them as bridges, both studies agree that this concept is an
excellent way to build bridges.
Did you know that the California Department of Transportation
(CalTrans) has in their inventory about 80 railroad flat cars that they can
dispatch to emergency bridge failures anywhere in the state? They not
only replace secondary bridges with railroad flat cars, but Interstate
Freeway bridges! After an earthquake brings an interstate freeway
bridge down, the State of California can not afford to wait months to have
that bridge replaced. So, instead they erect temporary interstate
freeway bridges until a permanent bridge can be built. If CalTrans can
do it, why can't everybody else?
Parks & Recreation
We are often contacted by various P&R departments looking for a pedestrian
bridge. They are usually pleased with the price of our "pedestrian"
bridges but are mostly amazed that the same Paragon pedestrian bridge they were
looking at building can also support most any maintenance vehicle. This
really changes the dynamics of building bridges for P&R's. Why settle for
a pedestrian bridge when Paragon can supply you with a vehicular bridge for a

Forestry
Paragon understands that the dynamics for various departments in heavily wooded
area can present unique challenges. Many times just getting to the bridge
site is challenging enough...but now you've got to find a way to build a bridge
in an area that most vehicles can not access, much less a crane. This is
not a problem with Paragon on your team! We have needed to drag our bridge
structures through hundreds of yards of muck, forest, and swap in order to get
the job done. Paragon's unique "get the job done" prospective is matched
perfectly with the shear strength of the railroad cars we convert into bridges.
